Decentralization of capital function

Indonesia's parliament passed a law to move the country's capital. The project is to solve problems in Jakarta such as overpopulation, air pollution and land subsidence. The new capital named Nusantara will be moved possibly in 2024 and it set to cost approximately $33 billion.In my opinion, it is generally good idea to decentralize capital function. It is efficient to centralize politics and economics but it is high risk. Thanks to growth of internet, we could work together even remotely. It could also be beneficial for us to utilize resources such as people and land in local areas. 

インドネシアで首都を移転する法案が可決された。首都ジャカルタの人口過密、大気汚染、地盤沈下の問題解決が目的という。2050年までに新首都となるXXXXに移転する計画で、約330億ドルもの莫大な予算がかかる。個人的には首都機能分散はいい考えだと思う。政治・経済が一箇所に集中するのは効率的ではあるが、リスクが大きい。インターネットの普及に伴い、リモートでも連携は可能になった。土地・人材・の有効活用など分散のメリットは大きいだろう。
