Drive my car

This morning I watched a movie on TV. The title of the movie was "Drive my car" which had won for the best international film at 94th US Academy Awards. The film was based on a short story written by Haruki Murakami who is one of my favorite Japanese writers. His books always make me think about life. All of the characters live their life while having mysterious troubles or worries. The movie has just his view of the world. Actually, I started watching the movie last night together with my wife but I felt asleep in the middle of the movie. Watching a 3-hour movie at night is too difficult for a man like me who can't stay up late.

Ramen

The state of emergency has been lifted in my prefecture this Monday. My family and I went to a Ramen restaurant for the first time in a few months. The ramen I had tastes rich and greasy, which is not good for health but sometimes I have a craving for. I have suspended running and workout for about three months because of an injury to my knee and have been gaining weight. The knee is getting better, so I will start to do some exercise for a regular medical check in the next month.

Used drums

My wife has been interested in playing the drums. I beleive that playing any instrument enriches our life. Today, we went to a musical instrument store and bought a reasonable used electronic drums. As soon as getting home, she set up and played the drums happily. In that time, a miserable thing happend. While My 7-year-old son played the drums, one of the tams didn't make sound at all. Maybe it is broken...I will take the drums to the store and have it fixed or refund.

My daughter's graduation ceremony

My 12-year-old daughter graduated from her elementary school today. My wife and I attended the graduation ceremony. On our seats at the ceremony was a message board from my daughter, describing her memories in her school days and her appreciation for us. It reminded me of bittersweet memories with her and touched my heart. When all of the graduates sang a song, my daughter was moved to tears. Needless to say my eyes were never dry.

The Shawshank Redemption

I hit it off with an online English tutor who I met for the first time yesterday. We talked about movies and we had the same favorite movie, "The Shawshank Redemption". This is a 1994 American drama film that I used to watch back in my university days. Andy's attitude in the prison and his friendship with other prisoners are wonderful. I like the scene where Andy asks for bottles of beer for his friends instead of offering a prison officer some help. There is some foreshadowing in the story and the ending is amazing. After the lesson, I couldn't resist watching the movie.

Sore throat

I have a sore throat because of overuse from yesterday. To be honest, It has been getting worse. Today, I, as a trainer, have conducted a lecture the whole day. Despite the fact that I bought a throat lozenge but forgot to take it. Going back home, a cup of hot lemonade with some honey cured my throat a little bit. I will not speak out loud until tomorrow. I hope it is going to be recovered and deliver the lecture tomorrow.

My kids' personalities

I have 2 kids, a 12-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy. They have different personalities. My daughter is an extrovert, so she likes to hang out with her friends and to play sports such as soccer. She is also very competitive and always wants to win. My son is so cute that everyone loves him. The ways he acts and what he says always mekes us laugh. He seems introverted because he often plays with toys, cards and draws pictures by himself. They have some things in common. One of the things they have in common is their honesty. They don't tell lies and deceive anyone. They are open-minded to anyone and help those who are in trouble. I am proud of having them in my life.
